Town Hall: 2 Year Old Room

Children engage in sensory experiences and develop foundational skills in language, socialization, and self-regulation. Daily story times foster a love for books and language development, while supervised recess allows for active play and gross motor development. Nutritious meals, including breakfast, snack, and lunch, are provided to fuel their busy days.

Diner: 3-4 Year Old Room

Catering to older 3-year-olds and 4-year-olds, the Diner room offers a vibrant environment for exploration and learning. Children engage in age-appropriate activities focused on social interaction, early literacy, and problem-solving, aligning with the Florida School Readiness Program standards. Daily story times captivate young minds, while recess allows for outdoor play and physical development. Nutritious meals, including breakfast, snack, and lunch, are provided to fuel their adventures.

Sweet Shop: Young 3 Year Old Room

Designed for younger 3-year-olds, the Sweet Shop room provides a nurturing space where curiosity and imagination flourish. Children are encouraged to explore sensory experiences and develop fine motor skills through hands-on activities, aligned with the Florida School Readiness Program guidelines. Daily story times stimulate language development, while recess offers opportunities for active play and social interaction. Nutritious meals, including breakfast, snack, and lunch, are provided to support their growth and development.

Post Office: Voluntary Prekindergarten Room

FREE PRESCHOOL FOR 4 YEAR OLDS!

VPK is available for all four-year-olds who reside in Florida and will attend Kindergarten the following fall.

Exclusively for Voluntary Pre-Kindergarteners (VPK), the Post Office room provides a dynamic setting for hands-on learning and kindergarten readiness. Children participate in age-appropriate activities focused on early literacy, math, and social-emotional development. Daily story times spark imagination and language skills, while recess promotes physical activity and socialization. Nutritious meals, including breakfast, snack, and lunch, are provided to support their growing minds and bodies.

About The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Program – Free for all 4 Year Olds

Little Village Preschool is proud to offer the Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) program. VPK is a free program available to ALL four-year-olds regardless of family income who reside in Florida and will attend Kindergarten the following fall. Some 5 year olds are also eligible depending on their birth date. This educational program was created to prepare every four-year-old in Florida for kindergarten and build the foundation for their educational success. The VPK program offers each child an opportunity to perform better in school and throughout life by offering quality programs that include developmentally appropriate curricula with a focus on early literacy skills, accountability, manageable class sizes, and increased teacher credentials.

VPK Students Receive

  • 540 instructional hours.
  • A class size that does not exceed 20 students
  • Instructors that have a minimum of a Child Development Associate for the school year program (Now referred to as the Birth to Five Florida Childcare Professional Credential)
  • Typical class begins in late August for 3-4 hours per weekday.

To APPLY for Voluntary Prekindergarten, please visit the Florida’s Early Learning Portal.

Enrollment Requirements:

Parents must complete a VPK application online by clicking on the Florida VPK link or visit your nearest ELC Office.

Documents Needed to Establish Eligibility:

  1. Proof of Child’s Age: Upload the child’s original birth certificate, passport, or immunization record signed by a physician.
  2. Proof of Residency: Upload Proof of Florida Residency (e.g. electric bill, lease, driver’s license, cable or cell phone bill or pay stub with address-NO PO Boxes Accepted).
